Returning to Church (again…)

This coming Sunday (6th December) we’ll be meeting back in the church building once again for both our morning and evening services at 10:45am and 6:30pm. We’ll continue to record the services and make them available as soon as we can on the church YouTube channel and the audio of the sermons will be added to SermonAudio.

If you’re planning to attend please remember that as Tameside remains in ‘tier three’ a number of restrictions are still in effect which affect how we ought to conduct ourselves while we’re together in the building.

Firstly, if you have any of the Covid19 symptoms (a new continuous cough, a high temperature, or a loss of, or change in your normal sense of taste or smell) or you have been requesting to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace then you should not attend due to the risk you may pose to others. If you are ‘shielding’ because of your age or other health concerns then the current government advice is that you should stay at home.

When entering the building please make use of the hand sanitizers which are available and, unless you are exempt for medical reasons, wear a face mask. Many of the seats have been removed in the main church hall to better encourage social distancing. Please do not move the chairs. You can sit with those in your own household but you should keep your distance from others.

The current guidance still suggests that congregational singing is unwise because of the increased risk of transmitting infection. However new guidance for the Christmas period will allow congregational singing outdoors, provided that social distancing requirements are observed.

At the end of the service you should avoid interacting with people outside of your own household or support bubble, and return home.
